Think about what kind of message knowing only that one piece of information sends to someone who's already upset. It says "I'm not the one who wanted to kiss you. The wine wanted to kiss you. I don't want you. I don't have any feelings for you. I was forced into this. I had no control over myself. That's not what's really in my heart."
It might not be logical, or true, but that's probably where her mind immediately jumped to.
